NEW YORK METROPOLITAN CHAPTER ANNUAL EQUIPMENT SHOW
The New York Metropolitan Chapter of the American Public Works Association will sponsor its 31st Annual Equipment and Products Exposition on Wednesday, May 19, 2021, at the Town of Orangetown Highway Department located at 119 Route 303 in Orangeburg, New York.
The Theme for this year’s event is “Stronger Together”. With over eighty vendors expected, this Outdoor Equipment and Product Exposition provides you the opportunity to see the latest innovations in equipment, materials and services for public works and other government officials. There is also the opportunity to network with other Highway Department and Public Works officials from throughout the New York Metropolitan area.
This equipment show will open at 10:00 a.m. with a continental breakfast. At 1:00 p.m. a delicious hot and cold lunch will be served, and the show will conclude at 2:30 p.m.
The New York Metropolitan Chapter looks forward to bringing our industry back together again in Orangetown, NY. Your health and safety is our top priority, and we are taking proactive steps by implementing the guidelines and policies of the CDC and New York State to ensure a safe and rewarding experience for all. Please promote and encourage the attendance of Highway and Public Works Superintendents, Commissioners, Foremen, Fleet staff and Elected Officials. In fact, if you bring along an elected official from your Municipality, and reserve lunch tickets in advance, the New York Metropolitan Chapter will treat both of you to the luncheon. Again, we ask that you spread the word among your fellow highway and public works officials and invite them to attend.

One (1) Continuing Education Unit
STORMWATER MANAGEMENT, POLLUTION PREVENTION AND GOOD HOUSEKEEPINGWe are pleased to offer, at no cost, an educational opportunity for Stormwater Management, Pollution Prevention and Good Housekeeping. This training session will be conducted on the day of the Equipment & Product Exposition and is open to all public works employees. The training will also offer, free to APWA members, one (1) Continuing Education Unit through the national offices of the American Public Works Association.
The training will be a power point presentation which includes the requirements for operating and maintaining municipal infrastructure and installed Best Management Practices for both the public and private sector. Topics will cover the following: Overall concept of pollution prevention and good housekeeping; The life cycle approach to infrastructure and installed Best Management Practices; Elements of a good program; Municipal operations analysis; Examples of good and bad housekeeping; Proper Training and Record keeping.
